Globe Guides 2 - Day Trips From Paris & Brussels

Paris isn’t only a city of great food, great wine and great romance, it offers some great day trips. We first stop off at the Palace of Versailles, famously built by France’s unforgettable rulerLouis XIV and where Marie Antoinette lived until her arrest and final execution during the French Revolution. It’s then over to Giverny, and a visit to the Monet Garden. Finally we visit the Loire Valley for some wine tasting and a visit to some of the region’s incredible chateaux, including Chambord.

From Brussels, Katie Haswell heads to Waterloo, the battleground where Napoleon was defeated by the Duke of Wellington. She then heads to Antwerp, home to the famous painter Rubens and to visit its diamond trading district, before making her way over to Ypres, to visit one of the bloodiest battlefields of World War I.
